A Northern Flicker Brings a Smile To Our Face
We are hoping that this bathing beauty brings a smile to your face during these Pandemic times, a Northern Flicker at our backyard water fountain.
We had been scanning the Birch Tree for some little yellow warbler and totally overlooked this Northern Flicker sitting idly on the edge of the fountain basin.
Once aware of it, we were delighted in the unadulterated pleasure the Northern Flicker seemed to exhibit over the course of its short visit.
The Northern Flicker gave us a rare chance to see the yellow shafts on its wing feathers displayed in all their glory. We were very fortunate to have it stop by for a few minutes on its journey south.
