Monarch Butterflies Are On The Move In Toronto
Today, in Toronto, we came upon a flutter of Monarch butterflies at Colonel Samuel Smith Park on the edge of Lake Ontario. The winds were brisk out of the northwest, and as a result, the butterflies were staying very low.
Bob and I have had no luck locating even a single Monarch Butterfly larva this year, so it was reassuring to at least see this small collection of butterflies roosting.
These Monarchs will soon be making their way back to the oyamel forests of Mexico where we once had an opportunity to see them on their wintering grounds.
