We have dubbed 2022 as “The Year of the Fox”. For several years, we never had occasion to see any foxes, and then this year, we’ve been blessed with 4 separate occasions where we observed, at length, two different adult foxes and then 2 separate litters of kits in Ontario, Canada.
Here are a few photos we took earlier this spring of 2022 of a trio of fox kits exploring the surroundings around their den in central Ontario.
Red Fox kits learn a lot through their rough and tumble antics.
Playing tough!
It is never too early to show one whose is boss.
Looking for a distraction from its sibling’s attention, one red fox kit thought it a great idea to dig a hole.
Rolling in the cool earth was a big draw!
Suddenly, the fox kits pricked their ears to attention.
Though we were quite distant, the snap of a twig alerted them to our presence.
We had a brief few minutes in the woods with these fox kits before moving on.
