L’Anse aux Meadows had immersed us in the Viking history of Newfoundland a day earlier, and now, it would be time to travel to our next destination. One March morning, Red-lored Parrots awakened us from their perch in the flowering trees above our cabin at Hotel Kokoro Arenal in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. After breakfast, we headed off to Arenal Observatory Lodge to do some hiking and bird watching. Read more
Our aim on the third day at Grasslands National Park was to see the sunrise, so Bob and I were up at 4:30 a.m. We grabbed a packed breakfast so that we could eat on the road. Read more
On one overcast and damp day in New Zealand, Bob and I decided to drive from Rotorua into the countryside for a tour of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. It seemed a good way to make use of a dreary day.
