It had been several years since Bob and I came across a Northern Saw-whet Owl, the first time being in our local park in late October of 2012. For a change of scenery at the end of a week of birdwatching in parks around Toronto, Bob and I decided to pay a visit to Oshawa. Bob and I were hiking along a small creek called Duffin’s Creek, in Markham, Ontario, Canada. As the sun was sinking lower and time was getting on, we were making our way back towards the trailhead when Bob’s eye suddenly registered an usual silhouette in a tree when he glanced to the right. Northern Saw-Whet Owl We Sighted In Toronto
Bob and I went for a walk one afternoon in Milliken Park, here in Toronto, Ontario, and by chance, we spotted a Northern Saw-Whet Owl (Aegolius acadicus) at rest in the thick brush. I had never seen an owl in the wild before, and certainly not one in such close proximity. We have frequented this park for years, and this was the first time we were lucky enough to catch sight of an owl. Read more
