With winds predicted between 85-95 kilometres/hour on the Tongariro Alpine Crossing in New Zealand, our plans for the day were dashed. The pass was deemed too dangerous to allow access to hikers, so Bob and I resorted to our alternate plan. We drove back to Huka Falls in Wairakei Park. Read more

After our peaceful and relaxing walkabout Hamurana Springs Reserve in Rotorua, Bob and I drove south to Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland. It is New Zealand’s most colourful and diverse geothermal area. Read more
After spending the morning exploring the mega dunes that border West Lake in Sandbanks Provincial Park, in Ontario, Canada, Bob and I decided to walk the official Dunes Trail in the park. The reward for our extra effort was being serenaded by a beautiful Eastern Towhee. Read more

When Bob and I first stepped onto the conglomeration of hexagonal stepping stones that compose the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, we were transported back in time. Our imagination took flight and traveled along the stones into the mists and legends of time.
